Anugama - Shamanic Dream

ANUGAMA - SHAMANIC DREAM
nightingale records
1989

Anugama is kind of a 2nd rate Deuter, both floating in the ethno-new age territory. this tape is 2 side long tracks.
side 1: a slow burner with oms and chanting and handdrums. side 2: crickets & triumphant synth stasis.
a super nice tape, i have a bunch more anugama, ill try to find the good ones and post more soon.
enjoy!

Deuter - Osho Nadabrahma Meditation

197?

i figured it was time for some more deuter around here, its been awhile. deuter composed music for various osho meditation exercises. its hard to get a clear date on any of the recordings. but ive heard the music was "transmitted" from deuter to osho in the 70s (but the CD versions all say they are from the late 90s). anyhow! the first stage is blissed out bells and gongs mind quieting aura cleansing goodness. the second stage is lovely reed organ / accordion chord stasis with distant recorder melodies. and the third stage is 15 minutes of silence finished off with a final gong tone. deuter did music for a ton of osho meditations and most of them are good. ill put the best ones up here over time. enjoy!

"So in Nadabrahma, remember this: let the body and mind be totally together, but remember that you have to become a witness. Get out of them, easily, slowly, from the back door, with no fight, with no struggle. They are drinking - you get out, and watch from the outside...." -Osho

Hypnogogic Sound / Vibration Tape

HYPNOGOGIC SOUND / VIBRATION TAPE
valley of the sun publishing
1982

hi friends, i really don't know much of anything about this tape. acquired it on the new age cassette black market in the dark of night, down an alleyway, you know the deal.....the music is raw, grungy, distorted, rumbling new age bubble bath. (not unlike some contemporary music by Evenings or Monsturo or Romero or something......) could be my tape copy is blown out or the recording was lo-fi or the years havent been kind to the magnetics. all i know is that it was released in 1982 (david keenan, sorry you were 25+ years too late). its part of the valley of the sun / dick sutphen new age axis. brain erasers, zappers, hypnosis, alpha/theta waves, binaural beats, MIND ELECTRONICS and all that! so my best guess is that this tape was made by dick sutphen or one of his cohorts.

enjoy the zones, its a special one.
(same program repeats on both sides, but i recorded each side because they seem slightly different to me.....)

much much more to come......

laserlight
1992

happy new year!
sorry for the lack of posts around here...

some outerspace music for you first....enjoy!

"SYMPHONIES OF THE PLANETS is a five-CD set that is now out of print. Put simply, it consists of recordings made by Voyager 1 and Voyager 2 as they passed by the various planets and moons of our solar system. Although sound as we perceive it cannot travel in the vacuum of space, each planet and moon emits its own electromagnetic "signature" that can be picked up by the right instruments, and those emanations can be converted into sound and recorded onto compact discs for your listening enjoyment. living love

always liked these early new agey record covers, don't worry about the music though, its not very good.
this was a series of LPs on living love publications from the late 70s.
all revolving around Living Love center in Berkeley & Cornucopia in St. Mary, Kentucky (which was founded in 1977)
the teachings were mostly by this cult-ish leader below, Ken Keyes, Jr.

Don Robertson - Starmusic

DON ROBERTSON - STARMUSIC
DBR music
1982

two posts in one day to make up for lost time...imagine pixellated space dust synclavier II sprinklings floating down from the far reaches of the galaxy.....these are the vibes i get from Don Robertson's ode to the universe 'Starmusic'. after a couple of years studying with morton feldman in new york, robertson made the incredible proto-new age album 'Dawn' in the late 60s. in the 70s and 80s he naturally gravitated to synthesizer music land and made several private press and hard to find tapes and albums. 'Starmusic' is a perfect soundtrack to Calvino's Cosmicomics. and then there is the requisite blasted into outer space treatment of Satie's Gymnopedie as a bonus. thanks to a very generous follower of the blog who sent this tape (and many others!) to me. enjoy enjoy!

(don's also on twitter, youtube and has a couple of blogs too....)

Wayne Siegel - Autumn Resonance

WAYNE SIEGEL - AUTUMN RESONANCE
Paula Records (paula 21)
1983

this kind of falls into the post terry riley new music zone a little bit, but its a gorgeous LP with 2 long pieces. im happy to call it GOOD NEW AGE! side 1 is a luxurious, sparkly & floating piece for piano and delay systems. side 2 is a shimmering mass of 42 guitars. sustained slowly changing choral textures. i think i originally found this LP on the mutantsounds blog or someplace else on the net, however these mp3s have been specially remastered by yours truly. beautiful music, enjoy!!

Dr. Jeffrey Thompson - Sri Yantra

DR. JEFFREY THOMPSON - SRI YANTRA
1994
center for neuroacoustic research

HOLY MOTHER OF MUSIC! well...i have no idea how i missed out on this Doctor! wow....what we have here is a musical translation of the ancient Sri Yantra symbol. deep deep waves of drones. reminds me of Paul Panhuysen's 'A Magic Square of 5...' CD...this is very soothing. very mesmerizing. very dreamy. this guy has hundreds of CDs out there i think....sure will be more to come. enjoy!

visit dr. jeffrey thompson's website -> HERE

"The SRI YANTRA consists of 9 triangles arranged very specifically and superimposed on top of one another. Dr. Jeffrey Thompson has translated this ancient Mandala symbol into a Sonic Mandala mathematically in two different ways. This CD was created for the Deepak Chopra seven-day workshop "Seduction of Spirit" held in San Diego, California in 1994. Visual images of the Sri Yantra and its corresponding sound frequencies formed a 45-minute meditation experience as part of the seminar. The sound vibration patterns that are generated by the complex relationship of the many sounds of the Sri Yantra make this soundtrack a very powerful tool for reaching deep states of consciousness. In both track 1 and track 2 of this CD, Dr. Thompson has played the complete Sri Yantra through a series of seven octaves. You will hear the Sri Yantra begin a mix of complex low frequency vibrations, which continually double in frequency every four minutes and become higher and higher, leading one upward. With headphones, you will be able to feel the Sri Yantra begin as a sound vibration in your body and eventually exit through the top of your head. The sounds on this CD have been processed with special 3-D recording techniques, so headphones or good stereo separation are essential for best results. This CD is best used sitting in a meditation posture with an erect spine, with eyes closed and lights dim. You may also wish to listen to it while meditating when gazing at a picture of the Sri Yantra."
